Description

Oil on canvas.
Another turning point in my life.
Sometimes, the most bitter and heartbreaking experiences in Life are actually the ones that -if you face them- can push you further into self-introspection, and through art, free you in many ways.
I think that was one of these moments.
This image has also been picked as the cover of the fantasy french magazine "Asphodale".

I’ll avoid the usual “wow & great work & just say I really like this artwork, it should be an inspiration to anyone that looks at it (& not a Wacom tablet in sight). I wish more people would submit actual artwork as opposed to mostly digital creations that only reside on their P.C.’s.

Amazing lighting. I love seeing how you get these somewhat alienated elements into harmony.

The part I like best about this image is the composition.. it's such a pleasure to look at.

I think what amazes me the most, is that you paint like the old masters. There is something absolutely enrapturing (not to mention genius) in the colour use and composition.

I believe this is my new favourite of yours.

My spirit certainly is rising. :) One of my very favorites of yours. You work the brush like nothing I've seen before. Top stuff!

i agree up there with linda.. I want to see these in museums one day.. and in real life because scans just can't possibly do this the justice it needs... but it does capture at least some of the warmth of your tones..

This girl seems to be in a lot of your paintings, I think i've noticed. or at least a similarity with most of them..

It seems to me that my heart failures at me. Maybe amount of my pulse impacts is directly proportionally to amount of your brushstrokes on this work. +9. It`s all I can.

I love the angle you're getting with the clouds, mountains and folds. It makes the piece really dynamic. Your style reminds me of that of one of my teachers.

Incredibleu! Oil on Canvas one of rare things to be seen (done well I mean). Im assuming you dont really want critiqs on this paiting as it seems it was meant to be a emotion booster! Soooo Wonderful work!

Wonderful colours and your use of lambent light is wonderful as always. I'll have to agree that this scan probably doesn't do justice to the original, but it is stunning nonetheless.

I won't let myself get carried away into another one of my "Amazing!!" speeches. You have no need for those.

So much emotion, pain, loneliness...and yet a glimmer of hope. That's what I got from the piece.

It's beautiful.

Hope you do not mind me quoting you, Chris Sir

"I love the angle you're getting with the clouds, mountains and folds. It makes the piece really dynamic." - ChrisThatGuy

going with what Chris states, it is rather intresting to view how the mountains and the clouds sort of engulf the piece itself.

This is rather beautiful, However I am not sure what your focal point is with the piece. If you were to turn this piece upside down the first thing that my eye is drawn to - the eagle

I really love her dress and felt that perhaps that the flowingness should draw the eye around the entire piece. Perhaps the colors fade to the mountain? I am not sure. I really enjoy that dress though!! - The way it falls off the breasts.

The neck seems almost too well defined, and draws away from the face. Which is beautifully done.

P.S. I always wanted my hair to be that color that redish color. (i've got green eyes but brown hair =\)

Excellent. Being of Native American descent, I can feel the power of this piece, and its message. Great job!

Well then what is its message? And I'd like to hear that from n1nj4zero first, rather than from Vacher..

With that eagle accompanying the woman - resembles the Beast Master film idea.

To answer JosephDeCamp's question, well, that's what I do for a living: paint for galleries. I also do book covers, cd and videogame covers, and animation work, on and off.
